Destination Colorado - December 2004 ~ Denver, Colorado

Fort Collins, Colorado
Only an hour north of Denver, Fort Collins opens up to an entirely new Colorado experience. A foothills city of 130,000 and rated by many as one of the finest places to live in the United States…….there must be a reason! Some say it's the beer, but the reality is Fort Collins has maintained anFort Collins authentic turn of the 19th century prairie city feel while evolving into a community that thrives on outdoor activity, open space and sunshine.

Fort Collins (there isn't a fort, but that's another story) sits at the base of the Rocky Mountains. From almost any vantage point you can see towering 14,000 foot peaks to the west and the rolling prairie to the east. Also, a river runs through it, Fort Collins that is. The Cache La Poudre River, Colorado's only wild and scenic river, offers rafting, kayaking, fly-fishing, and miles of breath-taking scenery.
